Role Overview
Trigon Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Employability Skills Trainer to join a well-established Grade 2 Ofsted-rated National Training Provider.
  
As an Employability Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality training that supports learners to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress into sustainable employment.
Working closely with Employment Advisors and wider operational teams, you will identify learner needs, deliver accredited and non-accredited training, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback and ongoing support. You will use a range of engaging training methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure learners remain motivated and fully engaged throughout their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities
As an Employability Skills Trainer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive training sessions that meet the needs and learning styles of individual learners.
  • Differentiate training and activities appropriately, while maintaining effective classroom management.
  • Deliver accredited course content in line with awarding body requirements and programme standards.
  • Follow agreed lesson plans, training materials and activity guidance.
  • Assess learner portfolios and provide appropriate feedback throughout accredited course delivery.
  • Monitor learner understanding, progress and development through appropriate assessment methods.
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback and recognise learner achievements.
  • Embed English, Maths, Equality & Diversity, Prevent, British Values and Safeguarding throughout training delivery.
  • Deliver course inductions and diagnostics, including literacy and numeracy assessments where required.
  • Maintain a professional, safe and welcoming learning environment.
  • Ensure learner satisfaction surveys are completed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Maintain high-quality training resources and ensure they remain relevant to learner needs.
  • Develop and manage training timetables in collaboration with Business Managers, taking programme requirements and learner demand into consideration.
  • Promote available courses to Employment Advisors, Recruitment Managers and other operational colleagues.
  • Attend team meetings, branch planning meetings and one-to-one meetings with Employment Advisors.
  • Review Management Information (MI), identifying trends and using this information to inform training provision.
  • Support group recruitment activity, including screening sessions, presentations and mock interview preparation.
  • Contribute to the engagement and sales process when working with external stakeholders.
  • Organise and facilitate presentations and guest sessions involving Recruitment Managers, Business Managers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and national labour market and employment trends.
  • Work collaboratively with Employment Advisors and operational teams to ensure learners receive a joined-up support service.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete all required administrative and compliance activity within agreed deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths as a minimum.
  • Experience delivering employability, vocational or skills-based training.
  • Knowledge of the welfare and benefits system and the current labour market.
  • Understanding of employability programmes, funding streams and relevant provision.
  • Experience of delivering feedback in a positive, constructive and supportive manner.
  • Strong written communication, administration and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • The confidence and ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using a range of management information and reporting systems.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners, creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
