Also considering Deputy Managers, Registered Managers & Senior Residential Practitioners seeking a career change

Location: North West England (Hybrid with Regional Travel)
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
  
Role Overview
Are you an experienced Residential Childcare professional looking to move away from shifts, on-call responsibilities and the demands of frontline care, whilst still making a positive difference to young people’s outcomes?
We are recruiting a passionate and motivated Residential Childcare Trainer Assessor to support learners undertaking Residential Childcare qualifications up to Level 5 across the North West.
This opportunity is ideal for an existing Trainer Assessor, but we are equally keen to hear from experienced Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and Senior Residential Childcare Practitioners looking to transition into learning and development.
Working in a hybrid role, you will support learners through their qualification journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to excel within Residential Childcare settings.
Full training and support can be provided to achieve the Level 3 CAVA qualification if you do not currently hold an assessor award.
  
Key Responsibilities
Teaching, Learning & Assessment

  • Deliver and assess Residential Childcare qualifications up to Level 5
  • Support learners through their apprenticeship or qualification journey
  • Deliver a blend of remote and workplace-based learning and assessment activity
  • Encourage professional development and occupational competence
  • Support learners to successfully achieve their qualifications

Learner Management & Progression

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 50 learners
  • Complete progress reviews and learning assessments
  • Develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and developmental feedback
  • Support timely learner progression and achievement

Employer Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with employers and workplace managers
  • Support employers to understand qualification requirements
  • Promote learner progress and achievement
  • Work collaboratively to overcome barriers to completion

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain learner records and e-portfolio evidence
  • Ensure delivery complies with awarding body and quality requirements
  • Support internal and external quality assurance activity
  • Work towards achievement and timely completion targets

  
Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or above
  • Experience working within Residential Childcare
  • Experience as a:
    • Registered Manager
    • Deputy Manager
    • Team Leader
    • Senior Residential Support Worker
    • Trainer Assessor
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage a workload and work towards performance targets
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North West

  
Desirable Criteria

  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
  • TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/33 or equivalent assessor qualification
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships or funded programmes
  • IQA qualification
  • Experience using e-portfolio systems
  • Previous Trainer Assessor experience

  
No Assessing Qualification? No Problem.
